Spring in Jiangnan
Warm wind, fine rain, thunder and new shoots form the work’s temporal cues. Jiangnan earth is set beside silk thread so embroidery does not merely depict spring but physically contains the ground from which it grows.
Art and handwork
Across a one-metre square, silk, linen, earth and gold connect the solar term with material experimentation: art joins craft, and daily life joins the land.
Dimensions note
Studio records give 100 × 100 cm, while the 2025 National Art Museum of China exhibition lists 103 × 103 cm. Whether these measurements include framing remains to be checked.
